It’s Not Much . . .

But it’s all my own work!

FRONT GARDEN COMING ALIVE

This photograph was taken on 20th April 2018.  After two extremely cold periods of weather, I was pleased to see plants starting to grow.

By this time, the crocus had finished and the narcissi were late.  The only thing of note is the Pheasant Grass, and the beginnings of peonies.

What a difference a month makes!

Peonies . . .

. . . interspersed with grasses, Aquilegia, London Pride, Solomon’s Seal, and even Iris buds

In the shady part Chinese Anemone leaves and a huge clump of Bee Balm.

The reason I have a ‘shady area’ in such a small space is this . . .

My neighbour’s overhanging trees and shrubs.  I wouldn’t mind but he’s cut them all back on his own side.

The stone wall on the left-hand side is his – as is the ivy and this sycamore in the corner, totally the wrong tree in the wrong place.
