This time of year is the only time I actually like my neighbour’s overhanging trees. There’s another inch of snow since I took this photograph earlier, and a couple of blackbirds are having great fun flying from one branch to another and knocking the snow off.
The other birds are sensibly staying at home, although our usual robin has been hopping around on top of the compost bin, looking up at the new fat-slab I hung up on Friday: I even included a stick for the robin to perch on, but it hasn’t cottoned on yet.
I may have to lean out of my study window and knock the snow off the satellite dish if it builds up anymore.
Good job I wasn’t planning a day in the garden!
