A hot month in the garden and by Week 3 the water butts were at a low level. I’ve been saving our washing up water to water flowering plants and pots, leaving the water butts for the potatoes and tomatoes – and I do use the hose in the back garden once a week, just to give everything a good soaking, though I expect a hosepipe ban at any minute. Despite, or maybe because of the hotter weather, July has been a most productive month.

You have some lovely produce from your garden, and the garden is looking lovely! It is quite a challenge sometimes to utilise space efficiently in a small garden, and it looks as if you have done so admirably!

Thank you. It is a constant effort to get things growing in succession. It’s a very hot day in August, and I’m planning autumn and winter sowings already 🙂
